Scholarships, Grants, and Subsidies
The Minnesota Historical Society has a deep commitment to education. To increase access for students and teachers, we offer numerous scholarships and subsidies to help offset the costs of field trips, bus transportation, education programs, and teacher workshops.
MNHS historic sites and museums
- Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Discounts offers financial assistance to serve schools with 50% or more enrollment in Federal Free and Reduced Lunch programs (FFRL). Please check with your administration for your FFRL enrollment numbers.
- Dahlberg Scholarship offers financial assistance to offset admission costs for grades 4th through 8th grade.
- Legacy Field Trip Support Fund offers financial assistance to offset transportation costs. Available to schools statewide.
- MacMillan Field Trip Grants Program helps offset transportation and lodging costs to schools in Greater Minnesota.
Site-specific scholarships and grants
Alexander Ramsey House
Adelia Wilson Endowment covers all transportation and admissions costs to schools visiting the Alexander Ramsey House.
Mill City Museum
McKnight Foundation Scholarship offers financial assistance to offset transportation costs and provides free admission to Mill City Museum for metro-area public schools. Limited to visits in December, January, February, and March.
