Chaperone tips

• Ask your group leader about your schedule for the day.
• Write down the time and place for arrival, lunch (if applicable), and departure.
• Print the Chaperone Guide (PDF).
• Learn the names and faces of the students in your group and make sure they know your name.
• Count your students before and after moving to another area.
• Review Field Trip Manners with your students.
• Be prepared to be outdoors in the elements. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes.
• Staff members may ask you to assist in activities throughout the field trip. Be prepared to help out!
• Students must stay in their chaperoned groups throughout their entire visit including their self-guided time.
• If you have questions, ask a staff member!
